Death Angel |

Death Angel is a legendary thrash metalband out of the Bay Area Scene in the 80´s. The band had an important stake in the foundation of Thrash Metal. At the beginning of the 80´s they were founded in San Francisco by the cousins Mark Osegueda (vocals), Rob Cavestany (guitar), Gus Pepa (guitar), Dennis Pepa (bass) and Andy Galeon (drums). One time while they were performing, the bassist of Metallica, Cliff Burton, was impressed by the young band. The guitarist of Metallica, Kirk Hammett, thereupon produced their demo ‘Kill As One’ in 1986. Hereunto they followed a contract with Enigma Records.
In 1987 the debut ‘The Ultra Violence’ came out, which is followed by ‘Frolic Through The Park’ one year later. After that Death Angel grew up to a famous thrash band with big world tours and concerts in Japan. In 1990 the band was also to be seen on MTV with the clip from their song ‘Bored’.
In 1990 the drummer Andy Gaillon had a tragically accident with the tour bus. Upon that, vocalist Osegueda left the band. After a year Gaillon returned to the band, which was now known as ‘The Organisation’ with Cavestany as the front man. They made two albums and broke up in 1995. Cavestany, Osegueda and Galeon formed end of the 90´s the band ‘Swarm’. In 2001 Death Angel came together again for one benefit concert, which was being hold for Chuck Billy (vocalist from Testament), who had cancer. After a few more gigs, for example at Dynamo Open-Air Festival they decided to go on. In 2004 the impressive album ‘The Art Of Dying’ was released.
